Credentialing Manager - Remote
JOB PURPOSE
The Credentialing Manager is responsible for overseeing the credentialing process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant verification of provider qualifications, licenses, and certifications. In addition to managing their own credentialing desk, this individual will supervise and support the credentialing team, audit provider files, and ensure consistent adherence to company policies and regulatory standards. The Credentialing Manager plays a critical leadership role by coaching team members, improving process efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to providers and clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage a personal credentialing desk to ensure providers have all required licenses and credentials to work with clients.
Supervise, coach, and develop a team of credentialing specialists; delegate tasks appropriately and monitor individual performance.
Review and authenticate provider credentials, qualifications, licenses, certifications, and other documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Audit provider files regularly for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Ensure timely and compliant provider licensing by managing application processes, tracking deadlines, and resolving any issues that arise.
Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for credentialing-related questions from team members and internal departments.
Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with providers, clients, licensing boards, and facilities to support seamless credentialing and onboarding.
Provide "white glove" concierge-level customer service to providers and stakeholders, proactively communicating file status and resolving delays.
Implement process improvements and contribute to standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and quality of credentialing operations.
Monitor daily workflows and prioritize tasks based on urgency and business impact.
Ensure strict confidentiality and proper handling of all sensitive provider and credentialing information.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new credentialing team members.
Prepare reports and provide status updates to leadership on credentialing progress, team performance, and areas of risk.
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent required
NAMSS certification is a plus
Leadership or supervisory training/certification is a plus
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
1+ years of experience in physician/CRNA/locum tenens or similar licensing required
1+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead role strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using credentialing software systems

WORKING CONDITIONS
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role functions in a home office environment and requires remaining stationary throughout most of the workday.
Frequent use of computers, Microsoft Office, and multiple monitors.
HOURS / SHIFTS
Monday–Friday; hours to be determined with manager. May require occasional after-hours or weekend work to meet deadlines or support providers and clients.
TRAVEL
Travel is generally not required; however, attendance at periodic company gatherings may be expected.
OTHER
